Tshepiso Moropa (b. 1995) is a Johannesburg-based, self-taught collage artist whose work reimagines African historical archives as living spaces of possibility. Drawing on her background in Psychology, Linguistics, and Research, she assembles fragments of archival images, memories, folktales, and dreams into visual narratives that explore Black life, womanhood, and ancestral memory. Working across digital, analogue, and immersive forms, Moropa blends meticulous craftsmanship with intuitive storytelling, creating poetic portals between the past and present. Her work has been exhibited widely, including at Eclectica Contemporary Gallery, and she is the recipient of the CAP Prize (2024) and the V&A Parasol Foundation Prize for Women in Photography (2025).
