  • Über den Zaun brings together seventeen artists whose practices weave across boundaries, exploring how kinship and collaboration emerge in the spaces between. Through installation, gesture, and dialogue, their works unsettle the myth of the solitary artist, lingering instead in connection, care, and shared creation.

In acts of making, conversation, and attention, the exhibition insists that relation is not given but enacted: it is fragile, unruly, and generative. Über den Zaun responds to a world of separations with openness, reciprocity, and play, holding space for the subtle exchanges between artists, institutions, and audiences.

  • The works in Über den Zaun are structured around practices of encounter, collaboration, and relationality. Through gesture, materiality, and spatial intervention, the exhibition explores the tensions between separation and connection. The fence operates simultaneously as a barrier and a conduit, shaping interactions that are attentive yet resistant to closure.

The project foregrounds the deliberate temporality of relation, emphasizing the slow and iterative processes through which kinship and collaboration are enacted. Care and attentiveness are made legible in the works’ modes of engagement, revealing the complex, often fragile networks that link artists, audiences, and ideas across both local and transnational contexts.
